LIPOSUCTION (FAT EXTRACTING
SURGERY)
Liposuction is the operation
which people has wrong
knowledge about the most.
There is a belief that
liposuction kills people and
those it couldn’t kill have
awry parts.

surgeries which create
miracles named liposculpture
and liposhaping. However,
the process is the same,
namely liposuction.

For women again belly and

hipline pelvic cavity, the
inner knees and the inner
and upper parts of the legs,
ankles, again low neck (jowl),
the lower arms and back.
THE AREAS WHICH ARE NOT
CONVENIENT
The front surface of the
legs and the lower parts of
the hips. If a little more
fat is taken from these
parts it is possible to have
collapses. If it is possible
it is beneficial to keep it.
WHAT IS EXPECTED BEFORE
AND AFTER THE SURGERY
The day of surgery: It is
necessary for your doctor to
draw a plan before a day or
at the same day of the
surgery. Generally before
and after this drawing it is
taken photographs. Remember
that the pictures are the
only way of comparison
between before and after
appearance of the surgery.
The surgery can be performed
by both general and local
anesthesia. During the local
anesthesia, your doctor will
inject you an additional
anesthesia called sedation
which keeps you at half
sleep. Thanks to sedation
you feel good, you do not
feel pain and you do not
remember what is done in the
surgery mostly.
There are many benefits for
you and your doctor to
undergo the surgery with
local anesthesia. First of
all, you do not have a
problem like sickness which
is because the anesthesia
after the surgery. Right
after you get out from the
surgery you can drink water
and eat. During the surgery,
your doctor is able to put
you the position desired on
the operating table and
sometimes make you stand up
to see the effect of the
gravity.
In spite of it sounds hard,
this surgery is not hard to
be performed with local
anesthesia and it affects
the result of the surgery
well.

After the surgery:
This is a small
surgery in size and
difficulty. It is
not true to say it
is a painful surgery.
The patients feel a
little pain when
they sit down and
get up for 3-4 days.
2 days of rest is a
must after the
surgery. In this
period it is not
desired for you to
stand up so much.
The reason for that
is that the body has
a tendency to fill
the blanks that is
extracted fat with
the body liquids. If
you stand too much
some liquid can be
accumulated
underneath the skin
and it delays the
recovery.
You can be dismissed
at the surgery day.
You can be back at
work after 4 days. A
simple painkiller
taken by mouth is
sufficient for the
possible aches. An
important tumescence
and lividness are
not expected after
this surgery.
If you work I
recommend you to
reserve a weekend
and 2 days for this
surgery.
After the surgery
your doctor will
make you wear the
corset in the
operating room. The
corset is taken away
usually at the 2nd
day and after the
first dress the
wound you may bath.
Every time you bath
you put off the
corset and bath and
then will put it on
in maximum 5 minutes.
It is forbidden to
walk around without
it more than 5
minutes for the
first week. You have
to wear the corset
day and night for 3
weeks. Every doctor
uses different
durations for this
but I guess
everybody’s minimum
is 3 weeks.
The first time you
put off your corset
you see your skin as
livid and drooped.
Do not worry about
it. If there is
lividness it goes
off after 1 week and
your skin gains its
flexibility and
adapts the new shape
in 1 week.
Do not hurry up to
see the result after
the surgery. With
the first tumescence
you may seem heavier
and larger for the
first weeks. At the
end of the first
month you will see
that you become
thinner and lighter.
There will be a
feeling loss in the
areas that are taken
fat. Mostly the loss
is goes off in the
first months and
some of it goes off
at the 9th month. It
is very rare that
the feeling loss is
permanent.
THE REPORT OF THE
SURGERY
Anesthesia: Local (+sedation)
or general.
The preparation
before the surgery:
The ideal is to
lymph massage for 10
séance or endomology.
Where should the
surgery be performed:
In a hospital
operating room.
The duration of the
surgery: It is
totally dependant on
the amount that will
be taken. Between
half and hour and 6
hours
The duration of the
hospital stay:
Usually it is not
necessary.
The ache and pain
after the surgery:
Light ache for 4
days. The
painkillers taken by
mouth are sufficient.
Tumescence and
lividness: Between
3-6 days. Light-medium
level
Dressing for the
wound: It is taken
off completely at
second day and you
can bath.
Corset: 3 weeks.
Sutures: Generally
at 5-6 areas one
each suture is taken
away where cannulas
get in after one
week.
When can be back at
work: Generally at
4th day.
Sports: After 2
weeks long joggings,
after 3 weeks
running and the
other sports can be
done. It is needed
to wait 6 weeks for
the competitive and
body-to-body sports
like basketball and
box.
The last shape: The
hardness and
tumescence which is
formed after the
surgery decreases in
the 2nd month. But
the total result is
obtained after 6-9
months.
