JAW AND CHEEKBONE PROSTHESIS


Face prosthesis and the prosthesis used to magnify the face bones. The aim is to magnify and make small jaw or insufficient cheekbones obvious. If they are planned well those prosthesis give good results that you cannot even guess. All the faces whose jaw and cheekbones are insufficient can benefit from this prosthesis. But if it is used in a wrong way, it is possible to have results which are far from being natural and aesthetical.

COMPLICATIONS AND PROBLEMS THAT MAY OCCUR

A serious bleeding is not expected in this operation but sometimes small hematoms can be seen around the prosthesis though and that hematom may need to be taken and this is a 5 minutes process.
In the surgeries which this kind of outsider materials used what is afraid of is the infection. The only remedy to treat the infection around or inside the outsider material may be to remove the prosthesis. The risk is higher when the prosthesis is put through mouth. In the jaw prosthesis there may be loss of sense. There is one each sense nerves in two sides of below the lips. If the surgery is performed through mouth it is needed to pass very close to those nerves and put the prosthesis then. In spite of the rupture of this nerve is a very small risk, even to touch this nerve cause loss of sense for a while. But do not get confused in loss of sense and loss of act. This damage of nerve may only cause numbness. This numbness is the same with the lower lip numbness when you are injected in the lower jaw to pull out a tooth. In the cuts done below the chin there is a risk but it is a less risk.
But after this surgery you may have a few aesthetic problems. Especially the prosthesis that is not put with indication, may indicate the face worse than it is even really bad. You may complain about the asymmetry even if you are satisfied with the shape. However, remember that everything is repairable and with the worst possibility you can remove the prosthesis and take your old face shape back.

Would I look like transsexual if prosthesis is put to my cheekbones?
I put this question in the excuse that it is asked so much. The answer might be yes. If the reason to put the prosthesis is wrong, namely if it is put in a round face just to lift the cheek lowness, it might seem like that. This prosthesis is appropriate just for the faces that lacks of cheekbones. If the problem is the pendency in the cheeks, the process for this aim should be implemented.

Does the jaw prosthesis handicaps to chew?
No it does not. This prosthesis just makes an aesthetical difference because it is put outer side of the jaw.

Just fat or fat tissue cocktail may substitute this prosthesis?
If a little change is desired, yes it does. But a medium or high level magnification is desired a soft stuffing material like fat may not be sufficient. Only a material which is hard like bone can appear like bone. Even, if fat or fat tissue cocktail is injected excessively, it may cause to have soft jaws or cheekbones which are hard to fix.
